Welcome

With an average age less than 15 years old, 35 Years of Trouble is one of the youngest bands performing traditional and contemporary bluegrass and gospel songs in Northern California.  All four members are veterans of the “Kids on Bluegrass” program at the annual Grass Valley bluegrass festival, as well as the kids program at the Good Old Fashioned bluegrass festival.  In fact, it was while jamming together at the GOF festival a few years back that the kids determined that their collective ages added up to 35 years.  Although they’re a few years older now, the name “35 Years of Trouble” stuck, as they started playing regularly at street fairs and farmer’s markets.   The band features solid instrumental work and strong vocal trios.  They have performed at the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival, CBA Father’s Day Festival - Vern’s Stage, the Freight & Salvage, and various street fairs and private events.

The band is excited to be performing at the Good Old Fashioned festival again! the Good Old Fashioned has been held each summer since 1994. It features three wonderful days of California bands on the main stage, as well as hot campground pickers on the side stage between main acts. The GOF is also legendary among festival fans for both the quality and quantity of campground jamming.

La Promenade Café, 3643 Balboa St, San Francisco, CA 94121

This show is gonna be a doozy. We’re heading for the hills – the bluegrass hills, that is – with an all-bluegrass lineup on a mission to raise funds for a great cause.

35 Years of Trouble will be joined by hosts Jeanie and Chuck and the amazing Redwood Rodeo.

The show is free, but we’ll be working the tip jar like you’ve never seen. All proceeds go to underwrite the cost of the California Bluegrass Association’s Bluegrass Pride Parade float. Yes! For the very first time, the twanging of banjos and crying of fiddles will be echoing down Market Street in front of the biggest single-day crowd in San Francisco.
