35 Years of Trouble consists of:
Tessa Schwartz (fiddle and vocals), at 13, is already an experienced bluegrass musician. Tessa has previously recorded two CD’s and taken the stage at many performances with Oak Grove, the Schwartz family band. Her sophisticated fiddle playing has earned her numerous awards at the Santa Clara Valley and Cloverdale fiddle contests. She is the band's emcee.
Helen Ludé (fiddle, guitar, mandolin and vocals) is 14 years old, and has been regularly performing on stage in the Kids on Bluegrass program since she was 7. She is also the star of her family’s bluegrass band. Helen brings strong vocals and solid instrumentals to the “35 Years” sound.
John Gooding (guitar, mandolin and vocals) is 15 years old, but you’d never guess that from his superb flatpicking guitar work. John has been playing bluegrass for many years with his two brothers and dad, and was selected to represent the California Bluegrass Association at the prestigious IBMA conference in 2014 and 2015. He is the CBA's Teen Ambassador.
Megan January (bass and vocals), is 13 years of age, and the newest member of 35 Years of Trouble. So new -- we don't have too many photos of her yet! Megan is a skilled bluegrass and jazz bass player who brings an impeccably solid beat to the band.
